Hi All
The season is racing along and we are almost half way through. Great to see John Finemore back on the greens last week helping out as we were very short of numbers.
A couple of reminders:
1. Joe Aarons is doing a great job with the help of his friend Richard Silberer (Armadale) with new bowlers and simply those that want to work on their technique and will be at the club again this Sunday from 10:00am till midday. The feedback is fantastic and I know that those attending are benefiting greatly.
2. We have the finals of singles and pairs looming on Sunday Dec15th. The ladies will be played between Olga Nowatschenko and Andy Barraclough. Rodger Kimpton will play either John Murdoch or Andy Smith who play their singles semi this Friday at 10:30am if anyone is interested in a=having a look.
The mens pairs is dragging a little and we will need to get games played as there is no moving the date from the 15th………stay tuned.
I have arranged on this day a beer tasting with our new friends in Young Henry’s where we can all try their range during the day. I hope that we can also put on a spread of food for all attendees. I am also trying to arrange a spirit tasting on the same day…..The tasting and food charge will be $10 per head payable on the day and I will put a sheet at the club this Saturday.
3. With the significant improvement in our green since replacement we have now been allocated the first 2 rounds of the ladies 4’s competition for the Sandbelt Region to be held next Sunday 8th December from 9:00am. For Malvern, Suzanne Gibbs will be managing and umpiring on the day and will, as always do a great job. There are 2 rounds played on the day so it would be a great opportunity to watch some bowls at the club and see the standard across Sandbelt region. It might also encourage us to enter a team next year…….

Training tonight will be a competition style with Joe and myself working with skips etc in reading heads as part of the process.
