DEE’S LATEST NEWS 15

Hi,

As some of you are aware John Murdoch and Andy Smith travelled to Nagambie and Dookie to bowl in the Victorian Open. They had great success despite foolishly not bowling in the over 60s. They both had wins in the singles against talented and more experienced players, Andy winning through to a final. In the pairs they enjoyed more success, defeating the fancied pair Mitch Sidebottom and Matt Robinson before crashing out.  Evidently the experience was invaluable and they also had great fun. We may have to join them next year.

Remember the Sandbelt Ladies Pairs final is to be played this coming Sunday at MBC. This will be an opportunity to watch the best of bowling.

One of our life members Olive Harding turned 90 this week. She is an inspiration as always, so cheerful and positive. It was such a pleasure to welcome her and her loving family and friends to MBC on Sunday.

Last Wednesday night’s dinner was an extraordinary success. Not only because it was delicious but 2 of our newer bowlers were involved. This is so generous and thoughtful we really can’t thank Sandy Knott and Ron Sherri enough. They provided a yummy lasagne and macaroni cheese while stalwarts Ann Hume and Sue Swann whipped up a decadent tiramisu. Thank you all who contribute to our happy evenings.

Olga is to play Andy in the Ladies final while Andy Smith is to play Rodger Kimpton in the men’s. Good luck to all.

Christmas is racing towards us and Andy Smith has installed lights and I believe other  decorations will be up soon.

Training will be fun and  even more importantly useful this week so I’ll see you there.
