New Shirts! And More…

In superb conditions yesterday, the traditional Div. 4 -v- Div. 6 competition was held, with the Div.4 team runaway winners after 21 ends. Team winners of the All Stars Trophy, awarded to the members of the best winning rink in the annual Div 4 versus Div 6 match, were Denis (“Killer”) Kilmartin, Eiko Sakai, Ross Stuart and Michael Classon.

This particular competition is usually held at the end of the bowls season but was brought forward due to it being the ideal occasion to distribute our new bowls shirts.

Dr Michael Walsh, CEO of Cabrini Health, attended the function, handing out the shirts to skips, who then distributed them amongst the teams.  Michael Classon, President of MBC, spoke of the wonderful ongoing relationship we have with Cabrini and of our gratitude for their sponsorship of the club in a variety of ways (the shirts and the Saturday catering being not the least of these).

Cabrini’s Director of Marketing, Christine Elmer, and a photographer were on hand to record the special event and we look forward to seeing the club mentioned in local media very soon.

In the meantime, a few amateur shots taken by yours truly yesterday. 😊

Great comment, Graeme! Thank you for pointing that out. We are deeply grateful for Cabrini’s community-spirited and generous contribution to our club.

Certainly an excellent report on a fantastic day. That Cabrini’s contribution was volunteered and unsolicited makes the relationship that much more satisfying. It was explained to us during the offer process that Cabrini is very much aware of a responsibility to the Malvern residents to support local business and community groups wherever possible.

Great report and photos Deb. No doubt one of our very best days at the club.
