Well the season is not far away and the newly elected committee meets this Saturday to get the wheels of the season in motion. We have locked in 2 practice dates and will finalise the opening of the green days/times.
With our new green not being available for use until approx. 15th September we have arranged practice matches at away venues for the 1st and 8th of September. I would really appreciate if you could put your names down for availability on the sheets that will be at the club this Friday so that we can start to formulate teams and numbers.
It looks therefore like we will open the green on the 15th September and will take the opportunity hopefully to welcome our life members and local members to assist us as with last year. I will be discussing with the committee on Saturday the exact format but am of the mind that we use the opening of the green day to spend time in meeting the committee and selectors etc talking about the club, the season ahead, selection, practice, social events, competitions, sponsors etc and hopefully then have an hour or two for bowling with weather permitting.
Stay tuned on this next week after the committee meeting.
