Saturday Pennant – Round 2

In perfect weather we scored a win at Middle Park and a near miss at Bennetswood.

Taking 16 points from Middle Park on their home ground is not an easy feat and something that this commentator can’t remember doing previously.

Three excellent rink wins were enough to get the team over the line 92-88 which is the sort of result achieved so often in the negative last season.

Tony Gamble summed up the Bennetswood result in lamenting the fact that the game wasn’t played over 17 ends.

Nevertheless there were very positive signs for the team, having bowled strongly on an unfamiliar green to go down 70-82.

Ladder-wise we now sit in 6th and 7th respectively with a win and a loss each.

Hello. I am Michael Classon. I have lived in Malvern most of my life. I call it my home town. Playing bowls is a great joy to me - I have always loved being part of a sporting team and being involved in the administration of the sport at club and State level has been a wonderful hobby where I have met many extraordinary people who have volunteered countless hours to ensure that our game continues to be available to all levels of participants. My message to new and experienced bowlers is make sure you have some fun every time you play.
