A group comprising Our Three Davids – Bird, Hurford and Pethard, along with Deb Hurford, Andy Barraclough, Rodger and Peck Tee Kimpton, Robyn and Brian Loh made up teams recently to attend the Tatts Bowlers’ Bendigo Invitational Tournament, competing in one day’s competition of the 6-day carnival.

On the Friday, three games of 12 ends each were played, and Malvern’s three teams had a win each in rainy conditions.

Bowlers report back that the day was a great success and by all accounts we should consider sending greater numbers next year to represent MBC at this event.

Full marks go to David Pethard for his organisational skills.  Sincere thanks to Bendigo Bowling Club for hosting the carnival.  Special mention also to the catering group who provided the bowlers with a hot roast lunch (including desserts) all included in the $10 attendance fee!

Hi! I'm Deb Hurford - I have been a resident of Malvern for the past 7 years although in an earlier life I lived here for 12 years. I've only been bowling for a very short while but I've gone the "whole hog" and jumped in to help with social events at Malvern Bowls Club where required and now I'm doing a little work on the website. I hope I can help YOU to get the best out of this site, as it belongs to YOU, the member. Please don't hesitate to suggest changes and additions - I'll always listen.
