On Saturday our Div. 6 team against Murrumbeena Park fought a close battle right to the finish line, when they were 3 points down over all. Three of the rinks had finished their games and the final result against MP all hinged on the team of Chris Gahan, Phin Meere, Ross Stuart and Barry O’Sullivan. As the teams changed ends for the skips to bowl, our valiant boys were aware that it was all down to them – specifically it was all down to Barry to roll a winner.
Barry did not disappoint. In fact he stunned the amazed crowd by sending down an upshot which split the head giving his team four points and putting Malvern Bowling Club one point up over the disbelieving and shocked Murrumbeena Park team.
Well done Barry and well done Malvern Div 6 on a great win!
